Irons hope for Valbuena progress

ValbuenaWest Ham United are some way from completing a deal for French international Mathieu Valbuena!

The attacking midfielder and winger was widely linked with the Irons in morning newspaper reports but ClaretandHugh can now reveal that a deal is some way off.

Indeed we have been told in the last few minutes that no fewer than six clubs are in for the  29 year old who impressed during his nation’s World Cup campaign.

The Hammers have certainly been in contact with Marseilles and are hoping they can make progress on a deal.

A trusted CandH source inside Upton Park told us a few minutes ago: “We are certainly interested but so are six other clubs.

“There’s huge money involved for a player of his age but we hope we can improve our chances during the coming week.”
