West Ham are continuing to talk with every top club over the prestige pre-season friendly they want to stage for the re-Olymic Stadium season opening.
The process is being complicated by commitments of major outfits and the possibility of the Hammers being involved in European competition.
The club – as has been reported previously have been in contact with Barcelona but currently there is a big doubt as the two clubs can’t find a suitable date.
David Gold told us this morning: ” The finances are in place for such a game but at the moment we can’t get that one sorted which isn’t to say we won’t.”
Among the other clubs approached are Real Madrid, Inter and AC Milan with DG saying: “We want the biggest and best possible for the fans.
“They deserve it – their commitment this season and to the OS move has been fantastic. We want to give them the very best we can.”
Get one of them and it will be a sell out for a friendly
We will soon be playing these teams anyway so sooner the better
