West Ham are reported to be in talks with Reims striker Hugo Ekitike.
Sky Sports reports that the Irons have entered into negotiations with the French club over a potential deal to sign the forward, who has impressed during his time in Ligue 1.
He is still just 19 but has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in this transfer window.
Newcastle have also been linked in this window – although, it’s fair to ask if there is a player they haven’t been linked with this month – while there has also been reported interest from Chelsea.
The teenager has made 18 appearances in Ligue 1 this term, scoring eight goals and registering three assists.
It remains to be seen whether Reims would be willing to sell Ekitike, as reports suggest that a bid from the Magpies has been rejected that was worth £29m.
A deal at that sort of cost seems quite unlikely at this stage but we know that West Ham are interested in a deal to sign a striker this month.
