West Ham United‘s pursuit of young Argentinian attacker Matias Soule has intensified,
The Hammers are eager to bolster their attack with a versatile young talent and have set their sights on Soule, a 21-year-old likened to Angel Di Maria. Soule impressed on loan at Frosinone in Serie A last season, showcasing his ability to play across the attacking line.
West Ham’s initial interest has swiftly developed into official discussions with Soule’s agent. The Hammers are considered frontrunners to sign the Argentinian, with Juventus keen to sell him to fund their own transfer targets.
As reported yesterday, a potential hurdle exists in the form of differing valuations. West Ham reportedly offered £20 million, whereas Juventus want to hold out for closer to £35 million.
Despite the valuation gap, there’s positive news for the Hammers. Soule reportedly desires a move to the Premier League, potentially swaying Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli to prioritise a deal with West Ham despite the financial difference.
Juventus’ eagerness to sign Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta is influencing their approach to Soule’s sale. The funds from selling Soule could potentially help finance the Koopmeiners deal.
Negotiations with Soule himself are expected to be smooth sailing, considering his exclusion from Argentina’s Copa America squad despite a strong performance last season.
Similar to West Ham’s first summer signing, Luis Guilherme, Soule offers versatility across the attack, providing manager Julen Lopetegui with greater tactical flexibility. His dribbling skills, set-piece expertise, and game-changing ability make him an exciting prospect for the Hammers.
Bridging the valuation gap or potentially including players in a swap deal could be key to securing Soule. Win or lose, it once again shows intent from the Irons to bring exciting young players to the London Stadium
Unfortunately it’s all just hearsay rumours and speculation, seriously if we wanted half of the players that have been mentioned we would have made concrete offers by now, don’t think that moyes wS the ditherer it’s the board, latest rumour is we’re after callum wilson who I believe is available on a free and injury prone, that’s the height of our ambition it seems.
Or go for Jonathan David of lille. Mobile, fast, two footed, and wants to play for Hammers!
I’d love to see a highly mobile front line without depending on a traditional #9. Soule, Guilherme, Bowen, with Mubama and Marshall options, supported by Kudus, and Paqueta would be quite exciting. Any defence would have trouble figuring out who to mark.
probably the most exciting player we’ve been linked with atm
would be an incredible addition to the squad
i get it, we are bless with left footed attacking midfielders, but this kid is versatile, just like kudus, bowen, guilherme and paqetua
they all can play in a number of positions and starting formations are just that, technique is king, total football is the way
the days of limited footballers for very specific tasks is the moyes way of thinking, time to evolve people
hopefully there is some meat on these bones and he’s a serious target and we can swing in, what a player!
