West Ham United are still keeping tabs on Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardžić, according to reports in Italy. The 26-year-old Serbian is expected to leave Udinese at the end of the season, sparking interest from several clubs.
West Ham face competition from fellow Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, who were also keen on Samardžić in January. In Serie A, both Napoli and Juventus have also shown interest in the midfielder, with the Italian clubs having monitored him for a while.
The report from Mondo Udinese suggests all four teams have requested information about Samardžić. For West Ham and Brighton, the focus seems to be on formulating the right offer to secure his signature.
Samardžić has contributed with five goals and two assists in 32 Serie A appearances this season. His recent performances are credited with helping Udinese escape the relegation zone. With Udinese now clear of the drop, his valuation might be on the rise.
Nevertheless transfermarkt value him at around £18m, which does seem rather a lot for a relatively unknown player
