Irons joined in chase for £20 million target

Watford and Newcastle have reportedly joined West Ham in the chase of Fulham’s outsatnding midfielder Tom Cairney.

We were strongly linked with the player in the winter transfer window and according to the Mirror, Fulham will be ready to let him go for £20 million if they fail to land promotion from the Championship.

The club are currently in third place seven points behind second placed Cardiff City and a further  six behind near runaway leaders Wolves.

However, if it were to go completely pear-shaped for the Cottagers they would be in a strong position to organise a deal.

Their captain having signed a contract extension last summer  which will keep him at Craven Cottage until 2021, with Fulham have the option for an additional year.

Cairney joins up with the Scotland squad this week ahead of internationals against Costa Rica and Hungary.

  1. I am very worried at the players we are being linked with. I looked at the Fulham v QPR game yesterday because I had not seen this right back or Carney before. The right back is a very very player, how we are considering this guy is just incredible. If we had any ambition we should throw in a 40m bid for Sessignon. In any case I also watech Cairney closely. Technically very good but not a PL player imo. He does not have other important ingredients like a bite in the tackle and a good engine. IMO another complete waste of money, these signings will leave us struggling at the bottom of the PL. If these are Moyes’s suggestions he needs to be told at the weekend thank you but no thanks.

  2. Our transfer policy will be wholly dictated by our survival, or lack of it, in the premier division. All speculation is pointless until we know our fate. COYI.

  3. More quality in the pipeline…lmfao …Champions league here we come …ooops maybe frigging championship!!
