West Ham’s former striker Leroy Rosenior and legendary goalkeeper Phil Parkes have joined ClaretandHugh’s exciting new podcast adventure planned for the 2014-15 season.

They have today both agreed to work exclusively for the us and will bring a range of former Hammers star names to the weekly show.

We are lining up a galaxy of former star Hammers to join us in the studio with the likes of Don Hutchison,  Tony Cottee, Billy Bonds, Ian Bishop, David Cross and many others.

Leroy will become lead presenter of the podcast after creating a highly successful career in the media in recent years which has seen him working for the BBC and various American TV stations.

The 49 year old former striker  spent four years as a massive crowd hero at the Boleyn between 1988-92 with his fearless displays as the ‘Andy Carroll of his day.” He is also a strident and totally committed campaigner for racial equality.

He scored 15 goals in 53 games for the club before suffering a cruel injury to his knee which eventually curtailed his career but he always remembers the Hammers days as the best of his career.

He said: “It’s a joy to join ClaretandHugh on a regular basis. It’s become a hugely successful website in a very short space of time. We will be aiming to do the same with the podcast.

I’m excited because I love the Hammers. I watch them every week  and remember my time at the club with tremendous affection – best days of my career.”

Parksie too – currently recovering from bowel cancer – after successful surgery said: “I have all the time in the world for Lee and it’s a real joy to become a part of this venture.

“I’ll be on hand every week to run the rule over everything that’s right and wrong with things at the club.”

ClaretandHugh’s founding editor Hugh Southon commented: “It’s all a bit humbling really. These are guys who are right up there in my personal pantheon of heroes.

“That they should commit to the  website and podcast on an exclusive basis is a genuine thrill. We are determined to reflect every aspect of the club and there are exciting times ahead.

“Watch the website for regular details.”
