Watford forward Ismaila Sarr, who is again being linked to a West Ham move but seems a very unlikely target for us as things stand in this window.
The Athletic reports that the club are interested in a swoop for the Hornets man, who has dropped down to the Championship with the club after their relegation from the Premier League last season.
The Irons will continue to look for a new striker in the January transfer window as they attempt to fill the gap left behind by Seb Haller.
But a swoop for Sarr would be massively expensive , with The Athletic reporting he would cost between £30m and £50m.
The Hammers are looking at spending a maximum of around £15m this month.
Also, Watford continue to push for promotion back to the Premier League and are currently sixth in the Championship, the final play-off spot, and would surely be loathe to lose one of their best players in the January window.
Sarr has scored nine goals in the last two seasons in total and can play on both the wing and up front, which sounds a lot like Said Benrahma!
Between £30m – £50 million for a player with that scoring record is a stretch at at any time, never mind with things as they are currently.
There may not actually be space in the squad for him, and he also isn’t an out-and-out striker, so one has to think that this is a flyer and nothing more!
