Irons linked to new PL right back target

zabWest Ham United are tonight being reported as being ready to make a move for Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta just a few days after being linked with another City right back Bacary Sagna.

The Mail claims that Slaven Bilic has been alerted to 32-year-old Zabaleta after it became known that he is weighing up his future at the club.

And were both to become available the Irons would probably go for him ahead of Sagna because of a two year age gap

Pep Guardiola has yet to decide whether the Argentine right-back or Sagna will get new deals and the player is now understood to be thinking over his long term future.

The South American has been with the club for nine years, signing on the same day as the club were taken over by Sheikh Mansour and also broke the British transfer record for Robinho.

However he wants the security of a longer-term contract and the opportunity to play regular first team football which isn’t assured at the Etihad.
