West Ham are being linked with Huddersfield Town’s midfielder Aaron Mooy should they retain theur PL status and the Terriers go down.
David Moyes has reportedly been monitoring the player – along with various other midfielders – and could stage a bid should he be offered a new deal at the London Stadium.
Town playmaker Mooy has enjoyed a fine season despite Town sinking to 16th place in the PL and the Australian international will want to move on should the club plunge into the Championship.
Huddersfield are on a bad run of form that has seen them win just one league game in their last seven, and they face a very tough run-in against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
That could eventually see the Australia international leave in order to retain Premier League football.
Moyes tracked the likes of Tom Cairney, Leander Dendoncker and Jonjo Shelvey during the January transfer window.
Mooy is contracted to Town until 2020 with a year’s contract option in favour of the club.
