Irons eye EFL star

|

Latest news from the Daily Mail claims that we are now after the young Peterborough United defender, Ronnie Edwards after club scouts watched him play against Barnsley last week.

Their journalist, a Simon Jones, reported in his Transfer Confidential for the newspaper’s website that the Hammers were in attendance for the 3-1 win last Tuesday to watch the “technically gifted” centre-back.

The 20 year old gained plaudits for his displays for the England under– 20’s in the recent World Cup in Argentina.

Needless to say, the lad has a number of clubs vying for his signature including Rangers, Palace and Bournemouth.

According to the Peterborough chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, he will listen to all “sensible” bids.

What is slightly odd about all this , if you look at similar stories on the internet, is that despite being a strapping 6 footer, some think he is too small for the rigours of the Premier League.

Nevertheless, our Supremo does need cover for injuries for that position, so we will wait and see
