Irons make enquiry – report

West Ham have made an enquiry for Jordan Torunarigha at Hertha Berlin, according to a new report in Germany.

Sport BILD claims that the Hammers have asked about the 24-year-old’s availability ahead of a potential bid in this transfer window.

Boss David Moyes has already signed Nayef Aguerd from Rennes and also secured the permanent signing of Alphonse Areola from PSG.

Torunarigha spent the second half of last season on loan at KAA Gent but has now returned to Hertha.

West Ham are said to have asked the question about his availability and that has left him hesitating over the prospect of signing a new contract at the club.

Torunarigha has been with the Bundesliga club since 2016 and has made 81 appearances for them in total, scoring six goals and also laying on five assists.

He played 15 times for Gent during his loan spell and one has to think that he would be a rotation option for the Irons.

It’s not clear how much he would cost but he is valued at just £4.5m by Transfermarkt.
