Irons may face five more weeks of Arnie worries

The brothers Arnautovic

West Ham re bracing themselves for ongoing issues in Danjiel Arnautovic’s bid to get his brother a move to  China.

Although Talksport – headed by the man who broke the story – Lee Clayton – claim the deal is now dead, the Hammers know that with the Chinese transfer window not closing until the end of February things may not be at an end.

And if Danijel’s past record is  any guide the Hammers know they could be facing a troublesome five weeks despite news the deal cannot be resurrected.

TalkSport – believed to have been briefed throughout by the brother/agent – said: “Arnautovic now looks set to stay at the London Stadium after the club in China decided to drop their interest having initially indicated they were prepared to offer around £45million to secure his signature.”

They added that Pellegrini is relaxed about reintegrating Marko into the squad but the Hammers still believe there may be more problems on the way from Danijel.

They are unsure what he may be ready to do but would be surprised if it is merely a case now of settling Arnie back into the squad with the Chinese window remaining open.

The agent/brother had stirred the pot when linking him with a move ahead of the window before announcing the Chinese interest.

Meanwhile, the Irons are ready for any new developments and will take a very hard line unless any deal reaches €50 million or beyond as they bid to ensure there are no repeats of the Payet affair.

  1. I don’t give a s..t about Arnies brother & Arnie either gets his head down and tries or playsin the reserves . Either way we’re not selling him way below his market price the Chinese can do one. Forget about him and just concentrate on the rest of the season. Couldn’t care less of he gets a move or not that’s what he and his brother created so live with it.

  2. Should a club like us be worried about a so called agent come on its his brother he is not even a proper agent just stand you ground the bloke is an absolute embarrassment ..let him talk,, but its easy just stand your ground and if he plays up stick him in the reserves till he sorts himself out..it s not rocket science

  3. While the window is open anywhere in the world there are deals to be done, I am unsure why they didn’t put a buyout clause in his contract at £75 million, same for Declan Rice at £150 million the reality is big clubs like statement signings and paying over the odds make good headlines, look at Coutinho at £142 million haha, Neymar at £200 million, that kid Malcolm and Dembele who they paid £132 million for, the market is what it is and the bling owners from Arab states or China or Russia want to be seen to be spending money it is a oneupmanship contest especially between Saudi’s and Qatari’s so we might as well exploit it.

  4. Doesn’t matter when their window ends.if by the end of January we have not got a replacement he can’t go.

  5. Even playing at half speed he would be an upgrade on yesterdays shambles in front of goal.Needs to get his head down and play for the club surely.Nobody has blocked the move at West Ham,he has simply had his head turned by a tinpot league offering big wages but not willing to pay what we want for him.

  6. Maxi Gomez talks to continue as West Ham chase replacement for want-away striker Marko Arnautovic

  7. Nothing to worry about. Surely Arnie is worth 50 million in today’s market, whether its China or somewhere else? Just get him sold.

  8. Replace him with Maxi Gomez. Although Gomez would be more a replacement for Andy Carroll than for Arnoutavic I think.
