West Ham are being reported as ready to make new moves for their summer target Pedro Obiang.

The 22 year old – currently with Sampdoria  since 2008, when he left Atletico Madrid.

The central midfielder, and has been likened to Manchester City powerhouse Yaya Toure and has also been heavily linked with AC Milan but the Irons went head to head with the Italians last summer.

According to SportItalia the Irons will  bid in the New Year, with Samdporia allegedly willing to let him leave if a suitable offer comes in.

However, a source told us that the first priority remained a central defender although there would have to be departures in order to release cash into the wages pot
