Irons midfielders close in on returns

|

Andriy Yarmolenko is set to return to the Hammers squad for the match against Spurs should the manager decide he needs him.

The Ukranian is back in training and  looking for a return to action at the most critical time of the campaign.

He has made 23 Premier League appearances providing five goals and two assists since joining the club but with Jarrod Bowen looking a solid option on the right side he is facing a real battle for selection

His current absence stretches back to December and he will hope to  to make an impact on David Moyes with his contract running out in 2022.

He is one of those who many have discussed as a possible departure whilst his transfer value is maintained via the time left on his contract.

Meanwhile we understand that loan signing Tomas Soucek is making a decent recovery from injury and could possibly be available for the match against Wolves on March 15.

Agree Gary floor me must be sold in summer we have cover from our youth and for me we need another centre mid defensive young and two full backs either side selling Fred and masu with Wilshire and Sanchez definitely to get rid we can start to become a strong challenge to those top six regulars. BSG OUT ASP please too

I would personally look for Yarmalenko to become a back up striker. He is a big lad with an eye for goal, think he would be more of a threat up front than in midfield.

Yarmolenko has skills but is slow, particularly since blowing his achilles. Part of the Serie A team assembled by Pelle. Cannot see him being anything but a late sub, even then, why play him ahead of Snodgrass?

Because snodgrass is slower more predictable ( cutting inside all the time) and is less prolific in front of goal
