Irons move for Man City defender fails

|

NastasicWest Ham have lost out in the chase for Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic.

Reports in Germany claim the Hammers attempted to make a late move for the player after he was involved in talks with Schalke.

The Hammers moved in when it became clear that Schalke were keen to take him on loan but were unwilling to commit to a £10 million fee at the end of the season.
City wanted a loan and offer from the German club at season end and thus the deal became “bogged down ” allowing the Irons to move in.
However, the defender, who is earning £70k a week, was unsure about a move to the east-end and with uncertainty still surrounding Winston Reid’s position the move broke down..
