West Ham United‘s pursuit of red-hot Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is a race against time. While the Hammers hoped to secure a bargain deal for the 28-goal forward, Borussia Dortmund’s reported interest throws a spanner into their plans.

The urgency behind West Ham’s pursuit of Guirassy is understandable. Michail Antonio’s age is a concern, Mohammed Kudus could attract lucrative offers, and now Jarrod Bowen’s future maybe uncertain. Without reinforcements, the Hammers face a potential attacking crisis.

Lopetegui’s reported desire for Guirassy suggests he sees the prolific scorer as a key piece in his West Ham rebuild. With his proven goalscoring record and experience, Guirassy appears to be the ideal target.

However, West Ham’s hopes could be dashed by Borussia Dortmund’s sudden interest. The allure of playing for a Champions League giant could be tough to compete with, especially for a player like Guirassy.

West Ham must act decisively to secure Guirassy. Hesitation could allow Dortmund to snatch him away. A swift and competitive offer, coupled with the potential for regular playing time under Lopetegui, might be enough to convince the striker to choose the London Stadium over the Westfalenstadion.

Securing Guirassy would be a significant coup for West Ham. It would demonstrate ambition in the transfer market and provide a much-needed boost to the team’s attacking firepower. Lopetegui’s first major signing could set the tone for his tenure at the club.

West Ham cannot afford to be complacent. The transfer window is open, and other clubs are circling. If they want Guirassy to lead their line next season, they need to act fast and decisively.

Go get him Mr Steidten !

I don’t want to say typical West Ham, but let’s be honest we’ve known about his low release clause since the January before last so why we have waited til some bigger teams from the continent have shown interest I have no idea. I hope we just go for it with him and get it done but can see us typically dawdling hoping for a cheaper price or better option like always.

I am sure that his agent has advised him to wait and see what offers come up and then choose the best
