West Ham will be very cautious over team selections for a qualifying Europa Cup campaign should they make it into the competition via the Fair Play League.
Many fans are concerned that the squad could find itself stretched but the Irons will be taking few risks in the qualifying matches.
The most likely candidates for action are those returning from injury and fringe players.
The competition could for example provide an ideal opportunity for Andy Carroll to get up to peak fitness in time for the season along with James Tomkins. Youngster Doniel Henry could find himself involved.
A source told ClaretndHugh: “No risks at all will be taken – the Premier League is always going to be the priority. We have been looking at the situation but let’s wait until we know the final outcome.”
Yep,make sense,it is the way to go.Give some fringe & younger players a run out.The experience will be good for the younger players for sure. When we are in the Champions League in 4 years they will have had some european experience already 😀
My question is: is little Andy the right forward? He’s powerfull, excellent head air, he’s not so fast, he seems to be perfect into a football system similar to that of BFS. Liverpool sold him, I don’t think other big clubs could be interested in buying him, probably he’s an overrated player. He has a very high salary. I would prefer a skilful and faster player, I’d sell Carroll and I would take another forward. The Genius built his team around him, how many other managers would have made the same choice? Personal opinion.
Good idea Carroll up front with Lee,Zarate sitting just behind
Noble ( captain )Jarvis Oxford Ginge Burke Henry,New Keeper,
Alfitano,Songs replacement
Looks good to me with a strong bench
Poyet Jnr too.
Diego Poyet the forgotten man, lol, bet he is glad to be away with the UruguayU20s,hope he is enjoying his football, must be nice to be wanted 😉
Sorry lads I did not include him because I was hoping next year he would be a first choice that was hey I put a bench full of good subs.
Yeah bubs,i ment it must feel nice for Diego to feel wanted by Uruguay, because he aint getting a look in for us thanks to the genius.Cant believe he stuck him in from the start at Utd,the kid did ok & then thats it,vanished in a puff of smoke for the season. This is why i dislike Hippo, because of situations like this with Poyet. Its just so wrong, the geezer is prehistoric, end of!! 😉
Hodgson showed us how to blend the squad perfectly for the qualifying and early rounds of Europa when he played Konchesky and Painsil as wing backs for the mighty FFC!
Fear nothing, we’re the Irons!
