Irons old boy Glen Johnson is AGAIN being linked with a return to the Boleyn.

The Express is the latest outlet to try this one on us in the middle of the silly season although it takes a bit of swallowing given that we are known to be in ongoing talks with Carl Jenkinson’s advisors and that new boss Slaven Blic is a known admirer of the Arsenal full back.

However, the report concerning Johnson declares that he is now a Liverpool outcast following manager Brendan Rodgers has splashed out £12.5 million for Nathanial Clyne.

Stoke, Glatasaray and Beskitas are all claimed to be in the market for Johnson who was a product of our academy of course.

The right back made just 19 Premier League appearances last term and has lost his place in the England squad.

  1. Dont even want him on a free, well past his sell by date 😉

  2. maybe 5 years ago, but not today.. at all!

  3. Bleh…no thanks!

  4. No,no,no,dont do it!

  5. Take him before Jenks any day – with Oxford as back up.. And let no one reply saying Oxford is only a centre half – did you see how comfortable he was on the ball the other night, he would do a great job at right back. Saying this I wud ideally prefer a completely different full back to either jenks or Johnson…

  6. Bloody difference being comfortable on the ball against a pub team than trying to defend against some of the best wide men in the world in the prem.Sheesh.No one said he was onky a centre half rhe other day anywah from what i read. They said he was a centre half who could become a midfield player like Song in time.Kid needs to learn his game in his proper position, not get shunted about because you dont like Jenks.Johnson is a has-been,buy him at our peril.Waste of time as far as i can see.

  7. No thanks. Way too slow and past sell by date.

  8. Poor old Reece Oxford,16yrs old,one game against a load of postman & goat herders & he is becoming the answer to all our problems.Centreback, rightback, midfield, lol, suprised someone hasnt said he could give good cover to Sakho & Carroll 😀

  9. He’s had a lot of injury in the last couple of years – we’ve been there, done that, it don’t work!

  10. Nope. This would be a BFS type move.

  11. For once I agree with John,
I would rather have my own player than loan off Wenger again,
But if Slav wants him At £4.5 million buy Corluka and find a young lad cheap to bring on

  12. Thanks Bubs – spot on…

  13. Not for me way to slow and caught out of position to often. Step backwards for us maybe a couple of years ago but not now.
