Irons on Nolan future

|

Kevin-NolanWest Ham are keen to see captain Kevin Nolan find a suitable club this summer but deny any knowledge of him talking to former club Bolton.

Nolan is known to have been considering his future since last season and the arrival of new boss Slaven Bilic looks to be the likely end of the midfielder’s Irons career.

At 33 he cannot supply the energy  he once provided in midfield and with the club looking to bring in younger players, his departure would boost their abilities to meet wage demands.

Sam Allardyce’s departure has always been seen as likely to mark the end of  Nolan’s Upton Park stay and speculation arose within the last couple of weeks that he was inn talks with, and could be on his his way back to Bolton.

However, a ClaretandHugh source said: “We know of no such talks and I think it’s likely we would. Were Kevin to find a suitable club we are unlikely to stand in his way. He’s been a great servant to the club.

“However, we find the prospect of a return to Bolton unlikely as we really don’t believe they could satisfy his personal terms were they to be in talks.”

I have a feeling we will be paying half his wages if he signs for another club or paying him a lump to walk into the sunset

  • Spoonie Spoonlic says:

I dont care where he goes if we can free up his 50k a week wages to put towards more worthwhile players.

  • Bob The Iron says:

Please let there be a god. Please some team, any team come take him from us asap.

  • Michael Miller says:

    Taxi for Mr Nolan!

  • Baz Brushe says:

I will pay the bill, stand on me,no worries there if it takes Nolan off our hands 😉

His time is up … He did his best and fought hard for West Ham and contributed greatly to our promotion and sustained presence in the Premiership . But , it’s time to book that taxi .
Thanks Kev for everything , but this is going to be a younger mans team and you ain’t young anymore . Hope you have a good future somewhere else ., you deserve it .

Everyone says he did a job and in a way he did but a team built on him playing because of AC is a joke, a system of play devised to play him no matter what at the detriment of others,a successful formation scrapped just to play him because of a managers blind loyalty did him no favours ,yes he did alright but at 50k a week he should do , his legs went 2 years ago but he was picked because of his closeness to the previous manager nothing more…

  • Si Hammer says:

When my mate,a toon fan saw we had signed him he told me we were welcome to him because he was well past his best & his legs were gone. That was four years ago.God knows how he was still playing last year in the premier league.Well, sorry i do know actually. For the reasons you pointed out GW.But no one must disrespect or be honest about Nolan in some peoples eyes.It is like trying to assasinate royalty!

    • GW says:

Well I’ll happily agree with you he was paid a small fortune for his captaincy, was a shoe in whenever he was fit or not because of his closeness to the manager and the agent of choice, players played out of position to accommodate him, stalwart maybe great player no way

      • Simply The Best says:

I will agree as well.He did us a turn in the championship for a season, not too bad second season, downhill ever since. For a guy who earns 50k a week he has been a joke this year.People dont admit it because they think they are these amazingly loyal fans who will never slag him.The same fans who will tear other players apart though, lol

  • bubs says:

Even Slav can’t do anything with Nolan
We need to move him and Magia along what ever it cost and replace them with Lee and Callum in the first team squad,
Pay them both off for there last year,

  • Billy Hammer says:

Lee aint ever going to cut it in the first team,he aint good enough.Who is Callum?

  • bubs says:

Personally I think Lee is a natural goal scorer and I think he will score in the premier,
    Other a typo sorry,
Just trying to be practical and balance the books,
The 2 Dave will stop spending soon and we will need players to fill the squad

    • Simply The Best says:

Cant see Lee cutting it to be honest bubs, unlike some who visit here im not trying to be arguementative, lol, just honestly dont think he has what it takes for The Prem but will do us a decent service in europe 😉

  • Tony gore says:

Let him go, hippo will nurture him? Somewhere!!
