Irons play it cool on Song link

songWest Ham are gearing up for a frantic last four days to the summer transfer window with a central defender believed to be at the top of the wanted list.

The club is keeping its cards very close to its chest but stories that Barcelona midfielder Alex Song could be on his way to Upton Park seem the product of a crazed dream.

The suggestion came in a Sky Sports News report where it was declared that the 26 year old is keen to move back to the Premier League and that Spurs and the Irons are in competition for the player.

However, a top source inside the Boleyn wouldn’t deny the story saying instead: “We are looking at a large number of players in the hope that we can land one or two good ones before the window closes.

“We prefer not to name individuals we may be interested in until it’s a done deal …or otherwise.

“At this stage it would be even money on us getting on or two in. We will know more in the morning.”

A more likely arrival looks to be Rennes central defender Jean Armel Kana-Biyik who is currently training at Chadwell Heath as the Irons try to make a decision on whether to sign the 2.5 million euros rated player.”
