Irons react to Rudiger speculation

RudigerWest Ham have no plans to move for highly rated Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger.

Widespread reports the 21 year old is on the Irons wish list and that both he and Enner Valencia could be on the ‘plane for the pre-season are wide of the mark.

The Hammers are still hoping to complete Valencia’s switch before the end of the week and hopefully as early as tomorrow with an insider telling ClaretandHugh a few minutes ago: “We are close but it will be done when it’s done – or otherwise!

“The lawyers dealing with the contract  are in South America and that causes problems given the time lapse etc.”

Sam Allardyce is a big admirer of Rudiger but a source inside the Boleyn said tonight: “He’s a top player but we haven’t got that sort of cash available.

“For the media to report that that we hold a serious interest is wrong. If we do the Valencia deal – or somebody like him – as I said before the money is gone and it will be about loanees and cheap signings.”
