West Ham are refusing to confirm early speculation that Diafra Sakho could be out for a month as reported by some newspapers.
And the simple reason is that the striker won’t even have a scan until later today!
A Hammers source told ClaretandHugh this morning: “It’s a guess based on the normal length of time for hamstring injures but we are hopeful it could be shorter than that.
“Nobody can confirm or deny at this stage because Diafra will be having his scan later today (Tuesday) and until that has happened nobody can realistically give any sort of assessment. ”
Nobody is building up their hopes but our source revealed that the player was in no serious discomfort after the game and added:
“We re certainly due a bit of luck so we all have our fingers crossed that this won’t prove unduly serious but we can’t confirm or deny anything right now.”
David Sullivan revealed last night the early signs were that it may not be a lengthy injury.
Just an idea, but would have thought he might have come off around 60 mins anyway after such a long lay off. Perhaps its a pre-planned smoke and mirrors psychological ploy to put Utd on the back foot when he shows up tomorrow for the game. Wishful thinking but you never know!
ZaZa and the word scoresheet should never be on the same page, the only sheet he knows is the 50 thousand a week he picks up for impersonating a footballer
Sakho’ injury was to be half expected , not match fit after such a lengthy lay off . But , it did go to show just how much we’ve missed him . Hopefully he won’t be out for too long . Didn’t see him hobbling off the pitch .
The next surprise could be Carroll , any chance of Wednesday ?.
Seems they should both be fit pretty soon . Anyway let’s hope so .
Man Utd say they want revenge for Sunday ; they seem to be in the wrong mindset at the moment and , with Mourinho having a split personality we never know what Man Utd team will walk out of the tunnel .
Have a feeling Zaza will be on the scoresheet in a West Ham victory .
