Irons rotation name of the game

West Ham’s kids are almost certain to get a chance against Leeds in the FA Cup this weekendin a competitom which has become of marginal interest to many!.

The Hammers go into the third round of the tournament against their Premier League rivals and it’s very likely that David Moyes will look to rotate against the Whites.

The Hammers did not play in midweek but this feels like an ideal opportunity to bring some youngsters into the side to allow them the chance to show exactly what they can do.

The likes of Jamal Baptiste, Emmanuel Longelo and Harrison Ashby in defence, the recently returned Conor Coventry from his loan spell, and the forward Armstrong Okoflex could all be given the chance to play in claret and blue this weekend.

Leeds, by comparison, are also likely to bring a few youngsters in, according to Leeds Live.

So it could be two teams handing chances to their U23 diamonds, while there could also be minutes for the likes of Alex Kral, Alphonse Areola, Mark Noble and Andriy Yarmolenko.

The FA Cup, unfortunately, just isn’t at the top end of the priority list.

  1. S0rry Dave but I’d love to see us pick up the FA Cup. What Hammers fan wouldn’t. I know it’s lost some of it’s sparkle these days but other than the Premier League title, it’s the most prestigious domestic tournament. It’s not as if we haven’t had a break. I think you should ask the players how they feel about the FA Cup.

  2. I would love to see both sides play their youngsters, we are both crippled with injuries and fatigue and imho it’s worth the gamble,, our young defenders did brilliantly against Zagreb with them having to score an absolute Worldy to beat us. I think even with the youngsters we stand a good chance against Leeds and the Norwich game is much more important at this stage of the season, it could get us above Arsenal and then uptodate with all our fixtures where other teams will still have one or two to complete which hopefuly they will fail to take maximum points from or at least tire them out so they lose points in other games.

  3. The FA Cup has to take a back seat for me. More important is 4th or even 6th place and an extended run in the Europa League. I would’ve like to win the Carabao but such is our squad we weren’t able to. We’ve won the FA Cup 3 times and I was at the home leg of the League Cup that we lost to WBA. Bring on Barcelona!!!
