West Ham’s hunt for a new right back is unlikely to lead them to Manchester City’s Micah Richards .
It became clear yesterday (Fri) the club are looking to add a right back to the squad with Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson a prime target.
At present the Hammers are trying to establish whether the Gunners are ready to allow the exciting wing-back out on loan or even allow a permanent move at around £5 million.
In commenting on the interest an Upton Park insider said: “Carl Jenkinson is one we are looking at along with several others.”
Richards had previously been the highest profile name linked with the club for that position and thus ClaretandHugh inquired directly whether he was still a target.
Our source said: “Micah Richards is a very decent player but very expensive and also seems to be injury prone. I don’t think we’ll be moving in that direction.”
