Reid 50/50…Ginge on stand-by

james-collins-435648James Collins is being widely tipped for a return to the heart of the Irons defence this afternoon.

Despite rising hopes last night that Winston Reid may be able to shake off a minor injury to his hip, it appears that hopes are fading this paving the way for ‘Ginge’ to make his return.

He looks set to partner the in form James Tomkins at central defence in an otherwise unchanged team as we look to hit 16 points at the Stadium of Light.

Collins has been pleading for a chance to play  but his chance looked far off until Reid suffered his knock in training.

A source has told ClaretandHugh within the last few minutes: “Winston is 50-50 and James is on standby. He has been absolutely brilliant in training.”

Otherwise, the team is likely to remain unchanged with Adrian in goal with a back four completed by Jenkinson and Cresswell.

Noble and Kouyate will slot in ahead of the back four with Payet, Moses, Lanzini and Sakho making up the eleven.

  1. Happy with Collins if required but why Noble again …. He is awful and gave away another 2 goals last week . He is holding Payet back as he is not on same wave length .

  2. Brave person Bubbles, you cant question Nobles place in the team,he is untouchable, exempt from critisism with some fans.
Collins will be fine if he plays,Ginger Pele will do whats needed of him if called upon.
