The Villa striker is in red hot form with eight goals from the six games so it’s hardly surprising his boss has dubbed him currently the “hottest” striker in Europe.
The Irons come face with the big striker today with young Reece Burke and James Collins facing a serious examination.
Collins said: “It will be tough because Christian Benteke is in terrific form. But we are going up there looking for a clean sheet.
Benteke’s red-hot form has prompted interest in the hitman but Sherwood said: “He is going nowhere No one can afford him.
“He is probably the hottest striker in Europe at the moment – Lionel Messi is a false No.9 so I don’t count him!“
But he warned his team against complacency against the Irons saying: “The players know they are on trial.
“At the moment, they are on trial to try and get a place in the FA Cup Final, which some of them might not see ever again. And if they want to stay here they have to produce the goods.
“This can all be taken from us. No matter what we’ve done in the league and how many goals we have scored, if we get relegated it means nothing.”
