Irons set to cover problem position in January

|

Sam-Byram-637845Unlucky Sam Byram is some way away from a return to first team training.

The right back went down within five minutes of the kick off in the Middlesborough game after over stretching and sustaining a ligament injury which has been described by insiders as serious.

Even the well respected www.physioroom.com which is quick to put a return date for players on their updates are unable to give an assessment when Byram will return.

And that looks certain to see the Hammers move on a right back  in January with only Alvaro Arbeola available as back up.

Byram wasr eported as having been given a few days off between the phases of his rehab from his hamstring injury but is now workingin the gym at Rush Green.
Although Arbeola has not been injured there arppears to be a reluctance to use him suggesting that the Irons are ready to move in on a permanent signing.

Fernandez has done pretty well and by Jan Byram should be fit plus Arbeloa so unless someone really good is available it’s best left to the summer.

Arbeloa looked decent cant understand why he is not being considered if it’s true he is fit. Fernandes also looks good and we should monitor how he plays, as for Antonio he should only ever play the position in the most dire circumstances he is useless in that position, the reports are linking us with Jenkinson I am not sure he is a great option either. We should look at a long term replacement ideally someone that has pace and can play both wing back and right back competently.
