Majid Balogun has completed move to West Ham United, ending his two-and-a-half-year stint with Manchester United. The Red Devils young speedster was expected to sign terms last week when Luis Brown joined from Arsenal but the move was unexpectedly delayed causing speculation that the deal was off.

At just 16 years old, Balogun found himself without a scholarship offer from Manchester United. However, he quickly secured a new opportunity in the Premier League with the Hammers who are only too happy to welcome him to the academy.

Throughout the previous season, Balogun explored options with various clubs, including Leeds United, where he was an unused substitute in an U18s Premier League match. His journey has culminated in a signed agreement with West Ham.

Balogun took to Instagram to announce his new chapter, captioning his post “back to it.”

Originally hailing from the grassroots club Lambeth Tigers, this move signifies a homecoming for London boy Balogun.

Known for his impressive pace, Balogun is versatile across the attacking line, utilising his speed to exploit gaps in the defence.
