Hammers new boy James Ward Prowse
By Hughie Southon
It has to be said that we have had a great start to the season. And if Rio Ferdinand agrees that must be the case given his recent history in comments about the club and Declan Rice!
It also has to be said that it was the signing of James Ward-Prowse who has made most of the difference.
Expert Ward-Prowse
We know his qualities as a consummate dead ball expert and he appears to be totally committed to the claret and blue cause. He really does look like a player who needed a change after so many years at one club
Also the stats people have being going bananas over his accuracy and assists so far this season
But don’t forget this did not seem to be the easiest of transfers as Southampton were loath to let him go and the fact we got him for only £30 million must be up there with one of the best bits of business any club has done in the recent window.
Once again, much hat doffing to Messrs Moyes and Steidten and good to see Ferdinand doing his best to get onside but perhaps “only when we are winning.”
Great to see JW+P get his deserved accolades, but even better news is that not only James but Alvarez looks terrific and we have Kudus to come. Biggest worry is Zorba the Greek with his injury record, we don’t need a new sick note. Second biggest worry is Moyes stubborn love of Soucek may provoke a Paqueta or Kudus just like the frustrating Benrahma/ Fornals fiasco.
