West Ham have tonight admitted that Sevilla have launched a bid to take Andy Carroll on loan.
The Times reported the shock bid in this morning’s newspaper and it was immediately written off by most observers as some kind of joke.
However, with the player closing in on a first team return over the next few weeks the Spanish outfit have indeed moved in on the club’s record signing.
ClaretandHugh was told during an Upton Park conversation this afternoon that the two clubs had been in touch over the last few days.
But our best placed source made it clear the Irons had no interest in letting the player leave the club either permanently or on a season-long loan deal which is what Sevilla are after.
He told s exclusively: “The Times story is spot on. There has been an approach but there’s absolutely no chance of it succeeding.
“It came as a big surprise to us given the circumstances but we aren’t interested in a deal as we will certainly be needing Andy once he is fully fit.
“It’s not necessarily a move that would suit him either given that there has been a recent addition to the family (pictured above).
Spain is unlikely to be an option to him in those circumstances even if we were interested which we aren’t!
I truly wonder where this comes from.
I mean, we could ask to loan messing and bale but it won’t happen.
1. We NEED a striker, why let an 18mill one leave ?
2. IF he went, even a 3mill loan fee wouldn’t replace him so No business sense.
3. He’s injured and wouldn’t pass a medical
4. Seville wouldn’t pay the loan fee for an injury prone player
5. Has a new born child at home so why uproot to Spain.
Article is a joke
