Irons squad handed a day off from training

bilicbirkikaraWest Ham’s players are not training today with manager Slaven Bilic believing they have earned a day off.

Despite rumours to the contrary, the Croatian is still in charge at the club as talks go on to make David Moyes his successor.

We understand that despite a horrifying performance which saw thousands of fans walk away from the London Stadium on Saturday, Bilic appears to believe that they should take their day off as usual.

The Hammers are hurrying talks with the Scot through in order to give him as much time as possible to organise t squad ahead of the next game against Watford after the international break.

Meanwhile Andy Carroll’s objections that fans should never leave a match have gone down badly among the faithful who have seen the team ship more goals than any other Premier League club this season.

The Hammers have slipped into the bottom three with a goals against tally of 23 worse than Stoke City and Everton who are on 22 and Watford on 21.

  1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ you couldn’t make this πŸ’© up on LSD lofl😡

  2. I suggest today’s the day for Bilic and to avoid anymore negativity than their already is they elected to keep the players away. Makes sense.

  3. Pop’s right. What’s the point of Bilic taking training now that his replacement is lined up? It would be even worse, of course, if the Development Team coach turned up instead of Bilic. No win either way. Best to take a few days off till the new man arrives.

    • So who is going to take training tomorrow ? Bilic ? He’s gone already mate ! Said his goodbyes after the lids defeat ? Please explain no win either way ? They need to be in training like pro,s , no body has died !! This is a professional football club ! Bilic is gone so get on with it !

      • News of Bilic’s sacking only became official after this blog and my post. No need to shout your mouth off all the time.

        • Who’s shouting there mouth off ??πŸ˜‚ oh dear ! I’ve hurt his feelings tut tut !!
He wasn’t sacked ? He resigned by all accounts ! No need to feel embarrassed ?
It was common knowledge on Saturday /Sunday ! So get you’re facts right ! Pesh poor excuse that ! πŸ˜‚
Noticed you didn’t explain you’re no win either way comment ?
          πŸ˜‚
He was also said to have agreed to stay on until Moyes makes it official according to reports on here as well ? πŸ˜‰

  4. I don’t think it can get any more negative pop ! They’re professionals not kids. Its partly down to them were in this mess ! They should be in talking amongst themselves about what they intend to do about it. A business in trouble doesn’t have a day off it goes in and tries to rectify the problems. An ideal opportunity to air their views and get it out in the open !
Treating these pre Madonna’s with kids gloves is more damaging than good ! None of the top sides would do it , its business as usual , were only 11 games in to the season !
    Its amatureish IMO mate .

  5. I think the wording of the article about Bilic thinking the players deserve their day off is a bit of journalistic mischief by Hugh πŸ˜‰ I suspect it has more to do with Bilic believing he will be getting the boot alongside his coaching team and as such keeping them all on hand to discuss what happens next, who knows of course Bilic does like to allow the players more rest than most of the other PL teams…

  6. The irony of it is that they probably feel they deserved it too.

  7. Bilic is going to have a lot of time on his hands now. 😁

  8. He’s hone now. To be honest, if they bring in Moyes they can forget about the Dildo Brothers tag…it’ll be the Dodo Brothers by the summer!

  9. What’s the point of training when your boss is getting the sack because you are a lazy bunch of has beens.
Sorry but it’s a fact all the players the board sanction have their sell by date highlighted on their foreheads or are too lazy to get established else where.
Marco Arnautovic’s own team mates condemned him at Stoke. Sad days We should never have left The Boleyn Ground, never have signed BFS and and now we are reaping the rewards. Facing relegation and probably employing another loser in tandem with a Manc that hates our guys so much he wouldn’t join us when his career was finished at Old Trafford. 60 years of loyal support down the drain.
Thank goodness my memories of the 60’s and the 80’s keep my blood claret & blue 😑

    • Well said that man – this rot goes back well before Bilic…and lest we forget he has more points per Premiership game as any of our previous managers in the Premiership. But he’s been let down by owners and players alike.

And if we go for Moyes, not only do we bring in a manager whose won nothing, whos best Prem season was a decade ago and who only last season said a female reporter deserved a slap. Sorry – the buck stops at the owners now…no more excuses.

      • We kid ourselve though. Who would come to West Ham? We are the biggest moaners in the country, we are a smallish premier club who haven’t won anything for 40 years, Every year is a battle to avoid the drop or from getting involved in the battle to avoid the drop. West Ham are not a big pull for any decent manager. We hate every board, every manager and we eventually turn on most players. We may take Moyes because we are desperate.

  10. Not sure what all the fuss is about Moyes although likely hasn’t been officially unveiled yet, even still no top managers wanted to join a team in a relegation fight with a bunch of players that aren’t fit enough, a change had to be made, the poor performances would have happened whether we were at UP or the LS, the fact it was our last season at UP and we had Payet is the only reason Slav’s shortcomings weren’t exposed 2 and a half years ago. Much as Slav was a lovely guy he was too laid back and made too many bad decisions whether that be player / coaching recruitment or team selection or tactical, we have some good memories of some brilliant matches but we were heading straight out of the league. Moyes is virtually none of our first choices but if installed he is willing to take on the job so we may as well get behind him and hope he can organise us into a style of play that keeps us up, worry about the rest at the end of the season.

    • Wise words 32

    • Sadly can’t agree about the ground change……..listen to all the pundits who played against us at Upton Park, they dreaded going there because it was so hostile and intimidating being so close to the crowd who gave them endless banter and stick. It was an atmosphere to behold especially under lights. The London Stadium has no more character, charm or feeling of home than the London Dungeon. It’s a taxi ride to get on the pitch from the dressing room. What would you consider as a player 35.000 odd baying fans behind your back or 54,000 half empty seats after 60 minutes. No the move did us no favours but we had already reverted to a long ball game with Allardyce by passing the midfield which has never been addressed. We can no longer compete in midfield, if. The board had really supported Bilic in buying Carvalho we may just have started going in the right direction.
