West Ham’s striker problems may have been dominated by Diafra Sakho over recent days but it’s Enner Valencia’s future which is now focusing minds inside the club.
The Ecuador striker produced a less than mediocre performance against Manchester United and not for the first time his performance took a battering from the fans on social media.
Bought for £12 million, Valencia has managed just nine goals in 56 League and Cup matches and looked to be right out of touch when recalled for the FA Cup replay against Manchester United.
Apart from his lack of form there have also been injury absences which haven’t helped and the the Hammers may now be ready to let him move on if they can get a reasonable price in the summer.
A senior source this afternoon (Fri) refused to rule out talk of a possible move for the player hen ClaretandHugh asked the question.
He said: “There’s been a lot of focus on all three strikers because Emineke will definitely be allowed to return to Turkey.
“Enner Valencia has often been reported as a target for a couple of clubs and every player has a price. He has had some problems. Speculation always becomes intense at this time of the year but it would be wrong to rule anything out or in at this point.”
Useless lightweight – good riddance!
Yeah you are right 32,Kouyate ain’t a DM & to be honest I don’t want him to be.Prefer it when he is covering the pitch offensively as well.He would be wasted as a DM.Nordveit is heading our way in the summer ain’t he??
Yes Billy and Muckraker Nordveit is supposedly heading our way whether he is like for like with Song we will have to wait and see. The problem with that though is it may cost us a place in Europe as we look defensively vulnerable through the centre as there is insufficient cover for the defence, I lost count of the amount of times Fellaini ran straight around Noble and others. If Song had been playing the last few games I doubt we would have lost them with or without the shocking refereeing decisions.
Have to say l agree with you there No.32. l think though that Bilic has a defensive midfielder much better than Song lined up, thats why he is sidelining him, to avoid playing him the number of matches that will trigger the automatic signing clause in his loan agreement.
Enner Valencia was no worse than most of our players against United, Bilic always plays him out of position as a left sided forward, he should play centrally, Carroll also plays left side and the two of them don’t play well together. Also we missed Song once again who should be playing in the defensive midfield role, Kouyate isn’t really a true dm he is more like a Yaya Toure type and better going forwards, also Carroll is mostly useless against Man U Sakho injured or otherwise in tandem with Valencia would have caused them a lot more problems.
Lol,thanks God for that Johnham.I thought you were having Hippo withdrawal symptoms for a minute, lol 😉
LOL LOL No thanks Hippo gone for good, just hope Carroll follows him..
I’m with you John 😉
Lol,and there is John Hartson saying on the BBC that all the fans are totally behind Bilic.Clearly doesn’t read Wetpants or some on here.Disappointed in Bilic.**** me do you want Hippohead back?????? 🙂
Men are born Wetpants, they don’t become one… You know, that first love you never get over it… Hippo always into their hearts … lol:-D
Valencia or Carroll to leave, it wud be Carroll all day long, I am afraid Bilic and his team have gone back to the easy option – Carroll up top. I am very disappointed. I don’t like the way we play when Carroll is in team. This weekend we play Leicester and this is the ideal game for Enner up top with Carroll on the bench. If Huth and Morgan see Carroll it will suit them perfectly i.e. no movement. Lanzini and Payet need a player up top with movement – their skills are stifled when we play Carroll. Enner is class we just have to play him the right way. Carroll for me is a great impact player but he should not be our no 1 striker. I am disappointed in Bilic and his management team at the moment but I hope they prove me wrong with their selection on Sunday.
If Valencia moves on then Torre will be a good replacement and I agree it’s not that he is lightweight he is game does not suit English football,he would be better in Spain or
France,
We also need to get some work done on the fitness of Lanzini,I love him as a player but at the moment he is a 40 minute player at best, similar to Zola and other players of that build,
Valencia can not play along side AC there is no understanding and unlike Antonio he will not put in a shift chasing lost causes,
Still think we player better when Obiang is on the pitch prowling in front of the defence and if you are going to play wingbacks you need this cover,
The timing of this speculation concerns me when we still have so much to play for in these final few games
I totally agree that Valencia was poor and for whatever reason has not kicked on as we had hoped this season but with Emineke departure confirmed we now have question marks over both Sakho and Valencia, personally I would want to keep both because on their day they are match winners just like AC and whoever our 20 goal a season signing will be.
We know AC always give 100% but to have the other 3 all of whom are quick and mobile potentially moving on would give us a lot of rebuilding to do in the summer
Valencia will leave in the summer I believe.Agreed matte, too lightweight.Moses will be out the door along with Song.Wouldn’t be surprised to see Sak go as well.Actually any of our forwards can go including Carroll. All too injury prone.I want a goalscorer who can play a minimum 25/30 full games a season or at least one who can give us a regular 15 goals a season. It doesn’t need to be a 20 a season goalscorer, there are very few of them about anyway in the PL.
I sympathise with Enner, but I don’t have to have a beer with him… lol In my personal opinion he’s too light for PL. I wouldn’t be surprised should he leave. On the other hand, I hope Moses stays. 😉
