Irons summer fears arrive after one match

|

Team news doesn’t come much worse on a quiet Thursday than to learn that two key players are likely to be missing on Saturday!

Seb Haller and Felipe Anderson have been described as having picked up small knocks in Saturday’s match against  Manchester City and may miss out on his weekend’s clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The  news was held back for a couple of hours after the manager’s presser and that is unusual given that the position  surrounding Jack Wilshere was discussed. The only conclusion one can arrive at is that things are not that hopeful.

Haller was the best player on the pitch for the Irons last weekend and unless Pellegrini decides to use Antonio through the middle either Chicharito or Albian Ajeti will be involved.

Both however are box players so Antonio’s chances of leading the line is the most likely option in front of a midfield involving  the likes of Lanzini, Fornals , Snodgrass, Wilshere and Yarmolenko.

The news, however, justifies all those summer fan concerns about getting a second striker in and it may now be that we will get an early look at the potential of Ajeti
