Irons talks hope to settle Sakho deal

SakhoWest Ham are still talking to Metz striker Diafra Sakho in the hope they can settle his personal terms.

Sakho has been widely touted as a possible new arrival and the club are keen to bring him on board …but certainly not at any price!

Despite an insider describing the signing as “a big gamble” it seems talks are ongoing and that a deal may well be done.

However, the memory of  Modibo Maiga hangs in people’s minds although the club are not ready to pay the £30k they shelled out for the Upton park flop.

ClaretandHugh understands that Sakho and his advisers are holding out for a minimum of £15k a week plus £5k for each appearance.

A source told us this morning: “Obvioiusly the Maiga thing is bound to be in the minds of one or two.

But Sakho is a different type of player – much more physical – and we would be aiming ton get him on a much more realistic deal.

  1. Hi Hugh.

Compared to the amount we were supposed to pay to MUFC for each appearance of Ravel last season, I assume 5k £ is not that much
