Irons target looks poised for Arsenal move

West Ham target Mykhaylo Mudryk looks poised to join Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The Hammers were linked with a swoop to sign the Ukraine international earlier this year but it now seems they have been outstripped in the race to secure his signature.

The Athletic reports that there is interest from Arsenal; they have identified Mudryk as their primary target for the January window and are now willing to do a deal.

Shakhtar have publicly stated that a deal would cost over £80m, but the report claims a lower fee will likely be acceptable.

Brentford tried to sign Mudryk in the summer but were unable to complete a deal and his stock has continued to rise since.

The 21-year-old has a contract with Shakhtar until 2026 so they are in no hurry to sanction a deal, and it will ultimately come down to which club is willing to pay the biggest fee.

It feels very unlikely that will be West Ham.
