Irons ‘target’ waits on stay or go decision

|

West Ham have been told by reported target Yann M’Vila his decision on whether he leaves St Etienne will depend entirely on whether his current manager stays of goes.

The former Sunderland defensive midfielder has been widely reported as a target for the story originated  in L’Equipe.

But the 28 year old insists his decision on whether to stick or twist will depend entirely on Jean-Louis Gasset who is leading them on a Champions League spot.

Manuel Pellegrini is believed to see the midfielder as cover for Declan Rice after ruling out a move for Gary Medel whom he tried to bring to the club last winter.

M’Villa has played for Rennes, Rubin Kazan and served loan spells at Inter Milan and Sunderland before joining St Etienne who are currently holding fourth place in Ligue 1 and where the midfielder has made 32 appearances.

Discussing his future to Le Parisien: ““I’m happy here. I am happy. The decision of the coach (to stay or not) will be decisive for me.”

With a contract until 2022 M’Vila would cost the Irons in the region of £10 million should they make a move for him.

A move for the experienced midfielder makes sense as he also has the capability of playing in central midfield which could see Pellegrini managing to kill two birds with one stone.
