Irons to cash in on Burnley travel sickness

|

leroylogoAndy Carroll will be the key man for tomorrow night’s game against Burnley given the way Sean Dyche’s teams like to set up away from home.

Not that it’s done the Claret’s boss much good so far this season away from Turf Moor because they have yet to win a game.

He will have two banks of four  facing the Irons so it’s critical that we get to the by-line and throw in quality crosses for Carroll who can truly unsettle them.

With Cresswell and Antonio proving the ammunition this could be a match made for Andy and one that could give his confidence a real boost.

We were tremendous at Liverpool and it’s important that we get on the front foot tomorrow night and really turn around our form at the London Stadium.

I have never bought into all the ridiculous hype about the stadium affecting our form – the grass is green, it’s a football pitch and if they can’t play on that surface in then they need to call in the psychologists.

I am expecting a win tomorrow night and by the end of the upcoming four games I agree with the majority who voted in the ClaretandHugh poll that we will have collected seven points.

We will need to be patient against Burnley but once we get down the sides and start  getting in the crosses for AC, the goals will come.

We can’t take them lightly as they arrive on the back of a good weekend win but they don’t travel well and that will be in their minds.

I will be there and am hopeful of another good performance under the lights, this season we have struggled to put back 2 back good performances together so I am cautiously optimistic. I think we need to be very cautious early doors, grind out a goal or preferably two before we open up. Against defensive teams this season we have been too open from the start usually conceded early and then not been able to get into the game. Burnley will be tougher than the better teams because they most likely won’t try to be attacking in the early stages of the game. Fingers crossed COYI !!! I was more optimistic than you Leroy I went for 3 wins out of 4 and 9 points.

Hmmm I’m not so optimistic. We’re talking about West Ham and we’ve been here many times before over the years. I was hoping that we had left seasons like this far behind us. We seem destined to always mess things up.
