IRONS TO WAIT AND SEE ON REID

reidWest Ham will take a close look at Winston Reid’s form at the start of the season before re-entering negotiations over a new deal with the player.

The stand-off between the Irons and their central defender is a result of stalled negotiations which it is understood have seen the New Zealander and his advisers reject an offer of around £60k a week.

Reid is now in the last year of his Irons deal and had expressed his ambitions to play for a top six club.

However, no offers have been received from anywhere for the players and negotiations have no been dragging on for several months.

And ClaretandHugh has today been told exclusively: “There’s a big offer on the table but no agreement yet.

So  the club will wait and see how he looks over the opening games before deciding what to do next.”
