West Ham are hoping to seal the permanent signing of Alex Song over the next 48 hours and Carl Jenkinson’s second loan spell could be the second signing heavily hint at on the official site on Wednesday.
But the pursuit of a central defender is still hard going with the club having been told they will need to bid over £20 million for Dynamo Kiev’s Aleksandar Dragovic (right).
That’s a big blow but the Hammers board are moving heaven and earth to bring in a top class central defender given that manager Slaven Bilic has made that his priority signing since attending his interview for the job.
However, it’s believed that Barcelona are close to agreeing a free transfer for Song who would arrive at The Boleyn on a three year deal worth around £70k a week.
Talks over a second Jenkinson loan spell are continuing with the Hammers now very heful things will be settled before the weekend.
£20M will be too steep for the Daves, sounds a good deal for Song and had my say on Jenks
Way too much… song good deal as long as we get the good version of 2014
The wages and transfer fees being banded around all seem high especially if we need 3 or 4 more players and given what Stoke just pulled off 20m is ridiculous. Problem is I can’t see many teams wanting our rejects who are worth nothing.
What Stoke pulled off was getting a guy who has the work ethic of Zarate when it comes to training & fitness, lol,he was crap at Bayern, barely scraped a game at Inter last year & now finds himself in sunny Stoke 😉
Well you could have a point there Chicken. It seems strange that Inter are prepared to let a player go who obviously has so much ability. They must have their reasons. At least Marseille really didn’t want Payet to leave which is a good sign for us.
