Tim Sherwood would hardly be anybody’s first stop when attempting to get a considered view of West Ham’s summer and their chances this season.
But the former diehard Spurs midfielder – whilst perhaps wanting to take a pop at his former north London rivals Arsenal – has given it large in terms of the boys in claret and blue this time around.
He spent four years at White Hart Lane as a player and another season as a manager but his words can’t help but bring a smile to our faces as we start life under Manuel Pellegrini.
Speaking on Sky Sports he said: “West Ham have had an amazing window. I can really see them pushing their way up. On paper, and I know nothing is wow on paper, Arsenal have more firepower but over the rest of the pitch I think West Ham probably have the better players.”
