Irons unfazed by Wenger as Giroud chase continues

West Ham remain untroubled by Arsenal boss  Arsene Wenger’s claim that he needs Olivier Giroud to remain at the club next season.

The Gooners boss claimed in various reports today that Giroud – despite only starting 11 games last season – was an important member of his squad and that he wanted the Frenchman striker to stay.

The Irons however, are continuing to work behind the scenes in their bid to grab to the player rated at around £15-£20m knowing that everything could change should Wenger successfully land prime target Alexandre Lacazette or another on his wish list.

It is well known that Wenger is very much in the market for a top forward and has a policy of looking carefully at players once they reach 30 plus.

ClaretandHugh was told by a senior Hammers source: “It’s very very early days in the market and it’s no secret that Arsenal are looking for a top striker so we remain confident that there’s an awful lot left to develop on this one.

“Not many of the top clubs are ready to talk about transfers out until they have organised the transfers in.”

  1. ‘It’s very very early days in the market’.Completely true and i wish some of our fans would take that on board at the moment instead of making rash claims about this window and the lack of quality we will sign.

    • That would mean that they don’t moan about the board and the club every day all day Stan. That’s not going to happen Stan is it? I do wonder if those posters that have been on a blog from 8am to midnight every day realise that we have been experiencing a heatwave outside these past 5 days. Tomorrow is going to be a scorcher I know where I’ll be mate.

      • Very true young john.It always tickles me when i read blogs and you see three hundred or four hundred comments and you think wow its busy on here. Then you soon realise over time its only the same dozen or so fellas who never stop wittering lol

        • They have nothing better to do with their lives from what i have seen.they seem to circle like vultures searching for anything they can moan about..sometimes issues that dont even happen but they moan about it because it might happen.some of them are akin to fisher wives all stood on their door steps gossiping. Its hard to believe they are grown men.
Whatever floats their boats i suppose.
