West Ham have denied that Genoa have shown any interest in injured front man Mauro Zarate.
Stories emerged from the Italian media via Gazetto Della Sport – and repeated on a UK website – that the Serie A club had made an approach and were waiting for a Hammers response.
ClaretandHugh made it’s own approach to the club immediately following publication of the story and were told: “There’s been no interest and certainly no bid. We don’t want to sell him anyway so that’s that.”
The Italian sports newspaper reckoned the two clubs opened negotiations this week, and that a deal may be on for the 28-year-old.
Zarate is sidelined currently with a hamstring injury and due is due back after the international break.
