Irons upside so clear – the future is so bright

|

Harrison Ashby looks a huge prospect

There have of course been concerns over the recent Hammers form – the draw at Burnley was a notable disappointment and the display at Arsenal was mediocre in the extreme.

Various reasons have been put forward  including of course tiredness but as we reach the half point of the season maybe we should be looking at one particular upside.

I’m talking about the youngsters who have slowly been showing what they are all about and what this club can look forward to in the months to come.

I’m not one of those who refuses to hear a word of criticism against managers and I sometimes don’t like the way David Moyes calls players out publicly.

But it’s hard to fault his approach to the youngsters and there are several who are set to save this club a lot of money in the transfer market over the next couple of years.

I’m talking of course about such as Aji Elese who looked very good indeed against Dinamo, young Baptise and Longelo whilst Harrison Ashby is already well advanced into the Scottish national team and looks a fantastic prospect.

Dan Chesters, Fereddie Potts, Armstrong Okoflex and Sonny Perkins all look hugely promising and the return of the academy of football at West Ham which I and others grew up with has been a big highlight of the campaign so far.

The future looks good!
