Irons v Cherries – how the CandH team see it

|

First home game of the season and CandH introduces a new Saturday morning feature.

Here you can take a look at what each of our team reckon is going to happen to the Irons this afternoon.

We will bring you our views every weekend.

Well be fair, it’s better than anything Lawrenson may have to say.

We have two issues – bouncing back from last Sunday while being a work in process. I trust Pellegrini more than any other since Lyall but I think we will take our time finding our feet and Bournemouth are nobody’s mugs. A draw would not surprise me but I’m ever the optimist.

Going for the home win and Anderson to grab his first League goal! It is my favourite prediction on the podcast and sometimes I get it right. I have a little bet on 1-0 and Anderson to score at 50/1 with Betway.

I’m hoping the team will come out all guns blazing on Saturday. Bournemouth aren’t known for their defending and I feel we can capitalize on that. Pellegrini has called for goals so I’m going for a clear victory!

3-1

Niall McDonald

I’m cautiously optimistic. This is a far better game to judge ourselves in than  Liverpool away. Bournemouth are to be respected but I think we should have too much for them. An early goal would be perfect.

Eddie Howe is no fool and he’ll have the scent of blood in his nostrils following West Ham’s mauling at Anfield. Shrewd summer purchasing has added to the pace in Cherries squad and we can expect the Bournemouth coach to try and test Pellegrini’s deployment of the offside trap from wide areas. The West Ham manager is too experienced not to have noticed his teams deficiencies though so I’d expect changes in midfield and possibly a full debut for Andriy Yarmolenko.

2-2

Mike Manera

Here’s an equation for you: New Players + Fresh Manager Tactics = Time to adjust. It will be a good six to eight weeks before we start seeing the best of Pellegrini’s Hammers. Having said that, I think we will beat Bournemouth. Their midfield is easily bullied and their defence has got a mistake or two in it. I doubt it will be a pleasant watch though as we grind out our first win of the season.

I think we will beat them as man for man our team is a lot stronger. Of course I’, worried the players still need time to gel but I’m hopeful that we will have enough to beat them. I think Arnie will get his season off with a goal and I can see Anderson on his debut too. We need this win so that the doubts don’t start to set in.
