Irons v Stoke: How the fans saw it

|

Hammers fans have been reacting to the point against Stoke City on ClaretandHugh forums.

Here’s some of the immediate reaction.

  1. Another entertaining game no goals against and players starting to show form coming back
Waited along time to get excited when ever we play,
    Effort by whole team brilliant,
    Zarate and Kouyate class
Can’t wait for next game and a good cup run

  2. agree with you 100% hugh they played their socks off and we saw a great addition in Antonio today lets hope he gets more starts, only downside don’t think carroll is ever going to be quick enough for the team.

  3. a game full of everything but goals. With so many players out we still dished up exciting stuff, with Antonio looking like he could well grow into the part; keep him in next week.
Swansea, Villa and even Southampton are all winable, so we should end our dry run soon.
What a long throw from Antonio ( far post throw lol ).
Looking forward to the next one.

  4. Actually finding it a bit difficult to be so happy at the moment to be Honest .
We are worse off now than we were with Alladyce this time last year . Truth hurts , but there it is . Our injury list to key players was the same as this season after 16 games . Bilic is this , Bilic is that , but at the end of the day we are no better off .
We were playing a team that beat Man City ( we also beat Man City ) .
It was a fair result ,, it shouldn’t have been , or am I expecting too much from Bilic and a injury hit side . That is now 12 points dropped in drawn games where we should have won .
Clever Bilic Banter won’t win us games . Bottom half of the table after Christmas is looking very likely and our European Fantasy forgotten . But let’s not blame the Manager eh .

    • what European fantasy? your European fantasy?

    • Wow Kevin stay off of roof tops until you cheer up a bit.

      Mike Tricker
Mike Tricker Brilliant manager won’t hear a bad word about Slav. We have to be as brave as he is and back him totally. This team is going places and it’s doing it in style even when it’s not the easy option

      Brian Neil Gay
Brian Neil Gay I love how he’s so quiet in pressers but you know he’s there when on the touchline!

      Nick Gilbert
Nick Gilbert Very entertaining 0-0. Thought Antonio and Zarate did well as did Kouyate who looked strong all afternoon. Carroll worked his socks off and was a constat handful. Needs better service though. Song needs more game time.

Mmm , Leicester were bottom ( 20th) by the way on 10pts .

  • kevin says:

    2014/15 , game 16 , position 4th , points 28 . GD 8
    2015/16 , game 16 , position 8th , points 24 . GD 4
Can’t see where I am wrong !!, we just need to be honest that’s all .

almost everyone agrees but Kevin so why argue/ Some people are natural pessimists and enjoy being bleak in outlook so let him wallow in it for a few more weeks

This weekend last year we drew 1-1 with Sunderland leaving us 13 points off the top spot. Today after a 0 – 0 draw with Stoke, we are 8 points off the top spot!

Even with the injuries we have I see us winning more than 3 games in our last 21 – plus the entertainment value is far superior…who can honestly say we are worse off now???

  • kevin says:

Ok , let’s see where we are in February . I seem to remember waiting on injured players to return and get us back up the table ,, it didn’t happen under Alladyce and at the moment it doesn’t look like happening under Bilic either . I am not an Alladyce man , I am a West Ham fan . Bilic looks capable of improving our position whereas Alladyce didn’t . But the situation whether we like it or not is very similar to last season . We have a stronger squad now , but results are still not coming . True or False ??.

  • WestGoaHam says:

Wait and see. The Fat One is doing his thing up in tripe land. Let’s forget these irrelevant comparisons. Enjoy the football.

  • I didn’t find any of it particularly offensive nor did I find it reasoned or sensible. I loathed Sam Allardyce but I won’t have anybody on here insulted. As for Kevin’s arguments , totally ridiculous as I have tried yo express in earlier comment

  • My non sbusive response seems lost on you. You are a well known Sam man so let’s not add deception to the criticism . Johnboy is right you are a wind up merchant Kevin so be careful

  • kevin says:

Abuse won’t solve the fact that we are worse off now than we were this time last season .
And obviously if you compare our present situation to last season Alladyce / Bilic is a logical comparison to make . I prefer Bilic to Alladyce , but that seems to have been lost in abusive translation . I prefer the way we are playing under Bilic , but if you look at the facts we are actually worse off . I don’t like it either , but there we are .

  • Dainon says:

We will collect more points this season than last. We were actually ahead of last season in every way until we lost so many to injury.

This point last season was the absolute peak of BFS 4 years in charge & the wheels fell off just before Christmas and he never bothered to put them back on. If you’re a Big Sam fan this is your last few weeks to bang his drum because after Christmas we were dreadful – so enjoy your last bit of fun, as soon as our injured return Slaven will out strip Sams achievements in every way

Im loving the football this season & Im proud to be a hammer again – Long live Slaven

  • mooro66uk says:

we may be worse off points wise but we are so much happier with seeing proper football being played every week. that is what the game is called and thats what were enjoying . id much rather be a few points worse off than miserable all week

  • johnboy says:

How can you talk logic when the person you are talking about has none !!!
It gets my goat up having to listen to hippo fanatics devoid of any logic!! Lol.
    Abuse ?
No , just a mild response to someone who only comes on to wind up !!!
Which part did you find offensive Hugh ? Blunt maybe but offensive ?? No, i can’t see it.
Depends on what part of the woods you come from ,
These hippo freaks need to move on its becoming pathetic . You’re response was logical but I’m afraid fell on deaf ears , it wasn’t worth the effort mate , they just do not understand ,

  • canchaz says:

Actually Kevin is reading our situation pretty accurately. No one can claim we are not, at the moment ‘treading water’ . No one can deny we are in a worse position in the league than we were at the same time last year and hurling ignorant insults at him won’t change that fact.
Now that doesn’t mean to say we won’t get back to winning when some of our best get back but that is still to be proven.
This is a results based business and if, having brought in a host of new and claimed to be,
Superior players, we finish lower than last year I don’t think our owners will look on it as a success and neither should they, or any rational fan come to that

    • Well actually it may have escaped Kevin’s and your attention that the reason we are treading water is because the spine of the team on which everything hangs has been decimated. The system of play was built around Payet, Lanzini has joined the party, Reid was awesome last week and Sakho is utterly essential. So we go to OT and draw (lost last year) and today we get another clean sheet from a team that’s on a high with four or five recent wins including one over Citeh. Of course we are treading water. How could it be otherwise but we are creating big chances (Zarate OT open goal and two against the post) and hits the post today. Any rational fan, seeing a newmanager come in, understands he needs a couple of years minimum but of course those who would sooner visit http://www.bringsamback.com will seize on any chance to criticise.Had our best team been out I’m pretty sure we’d have won two or three.

Kevin take you’re hippo flag and shove it where the garbage comes out of,
Bilic is streets , no , towns ahead of the fat turd !!!
    You haven’t a clue about football !!!
Stick to the wet pants site cos you ain’t welcome here! Better still shove off with the flag up north and enjoy the crap you’re hero plays !! HOOOOF !!!
    You ain’t got a clue mate !!!!!!
Better still go find a rooftop !!!!
