Irons want five out as deal collapses

West Ham are seriously focused on moving out five fringe players as the manager and director of football look to bring in two or three more players.

But they have been disappointed that a deal which seemed nailed on with Augsburg for Reece Oxford has now collapsed.

A highly placed London Stadium told us on the phone the expected deal has fallen through as a result of the player wanting a relegation clause inserted into any deal and it is believed that the player may have wanted an improvement on his Hammers personal terms.

He said: “That deal is now looking dead in the water.”

Newly appointed West Brom boss Slaven Bilic is believed to be interested in the defender but the Hammers admitted there has been no contact with the black country outfit.

Beyond Oxford the Hammers are ready to move out Pedro Obiang, Sam Byram, Jordan Hugill and even Martin Samuelsen.

There is interest from Nottingham Forest for Byram, Obiang is regularly linked with Roma but Samuelsen may struggle for a club given his wages of £8k a week.

There has been little interest in the David Moyes signing – Hugill!

  1. Need asp to get obiang and cresswell out with chich sanchez and Arnie as well for me to get some cash for quality players coming in younger fitter and pacy. As for hugil just give him a cheap sell on price as how on earth sullivan gave moyes this ok is beyond me at ten mill? Not exactly a savvy person on good players either of them two .

  2. Didn’t Oxford get shipped out on loan to reading and was critical of the intensity of training at West Ham under bilic? Or is my memory playing tricks with me – if so maybe hArd to see that happening.

    • I think when he went to Reading, Jaap Stan said Oxford was unfit and couldn’t handle THEIR training, suggesting that training under Bilic was too soft.

  3. It would help to be able to get some money trickling in. Whatever we do, we must keep Cresswell.
