Irons want Jenkinson ‘buy’ option

|

JenkWest Ham will ensure they have an option to buy Carl Jenkinson attached to the loan deal they are currently negotiating with the Arsenal player.

The right wing back is now reported close to agreeing a deal with the Irons and the club want the option included.

A Hammers source told ClaretandHugh: ” We aim to get an option to buy included – that’s for sure..

“Jenkinson is a fine young player and a year on loan will give us ample time to assess him so the option will be there.”

Manager Sam Allardyce is hopeful of tying up the move inside 24 hours.

The Arsenal defender has been chased by numerous clubs this summer but is now looking certain to agree a loan deal with the Irons.

He told TalkSport: ” We are looking to sign Carl Jenkinson on loan and I hope it will be done in 24 hours.

The player is apparently keen to remain in London and clearly now sees the Hammers as his best option after Hull City boss Steve Bruce admitted that he was out of the race.”
