West Ham’s cash problems  will be barely touched should they make it to Wembley for a Capital One Cup Final appearance.

The Irons have to overcome  Manchester City to make it to the old stadium but Claretandhugh has learned that should they do so they will earn only around £1 million from the big day.

Having pulled off a near miracle to beat Spurs and reach the semi finals everybody is dreaming of a trip down Wembley Way.

However, whichever of the four clubs – ourselves, Manchester City, Manchester United or Sunderland lift the trophy will hardly get excited by the cash incentive.

A source told Claretandhugh exclusively: “It’s not a massive financial pay day but the prestige and lift it gives the fans is worth more than money.

“The side did brilliantly at White Hart Lane. We are thrilled to be in the last four.”
