Irons withdraw as Sunderland refuse to budge

Sunderland have told West Ham they will “100 per cent categorically” not sell Connor Wickham.
Reports that we have pulled out of the ‘race’  for the player started circulating this morning but by this afternoon the conspiracy theories had started over his future.
We were told by one club source that the club may now be waiting to see if the player puts himself on the transfer list thus prompting a new bidding war.
However, as things stand at this moment the Hammer have withdrawn after offering between £6m and £7m.
A source told us: “We are confident of finding a front man.  We still have several options
“Sunderland have told us 100 per cent they won’t sell Wickham so as it stands we have to accept that it’s dead but we’ll keep an eye on developments.”

  1. The problem isn’t finding a front man but one who isn’t 1000th on our list, because we have missed out on all the others, one who will add to the squad and team otherwise no point in bringing them in and one who has solid PL experience who can hit the ground running. We should be going 3-5-2 and I do fear we will be up against it on Sat, just don’t know where the goals are going to come from; no doesn’t that sound familiar!!
